Is it me or is it very expensive to learn Karate these days. I am fully aware that there is no price when it comes to improving yourself in every way and equipping yourself with the knowledge of defending your life when ever confronted with someone who wants to hurt you.  Beside the fact that there are expenses that keep rising for martial art school owners I can sympathize with that and our not so strong economy. It’s just making it so hard to hand your belt anywhere these days. Just throwing it out there. No bad intensions.

I think so much is very overly priced.  I run a school and charge $65.00 per month no test fees.  I understand the economy but even when it was well enough, it was still overly priced.

Its not you karate and all martial arts are getting very expensive these days.  It hurts more when you live in an area that has a high cost of living.  A couple of things that are the reasons behind the rise in cost in martial arts training are:

1 instructors teaching as main source of income

2 rising overhead costs

3 the use of management companies

There are still people and groups that teach for free and low cost so there is some hope.
