Pedro Roman Roig started karate at the age of four years old after he had an interest in action movies. He often got into fights in school and his mother thought joining karate was a good way to channel all his energy.
At eight years old, Roig started to compete in kata and he competed for the first time in kumite when he turned twelve. He spent five years in the high-performance center in Madrid, where he trained with many great competitors such as Óscar Vázquez, David Luque, Matías Gómez, Irene Colomar and many more. Roig went on to represent his country in the European World Championships.
Roig is now a very calm person, often enjoying solitude, which is the reason he identifies with karate and martial arts. He recently graduated with a physical science degree and currently studying for a master’s degree in sports management while working as a personal and physical trainer for Cristina Vizcaino (kumite -61g).
