On April 1st, Erica Santos and Melinda Fabian meet inside the Pit at Karate Combat 38.
Erica “The Brazilian Muse” Santos is one of the best Olympic Karate athletes to come out of Brazil.
She is a 2x Pan-American Medalist, 5x South American Medalist, and 10x Brazilian National Medalist. She has been ranked #1 in Brazil and within the Top 30 in the World for female World Karate Federation athletes.
In her Karate Combat debut she took all these experiences and fought valiantly. Despite showing a lot of heart, she would ultimately be finished by Omaira Molina. The KO went viral, but it didn't diminish Erica's fighting spirit.
Since this loss, she joined Lightweight Champion Luiz Rocha and my #3 ranked Women's P4P fighter Sthefanie Oliveira as a member of the Pitbull Bros Karate Team. Initially she continued her Point Karate Career while training at the Pitbull Bros.
Recently, she has moved to Natal, Brazil to teach children's Karate classes and train full time at the Pitbull Bros Gym. She wants to prove that she isn’t just the “Brazilian Muse” anymore. She intends to introduce the KC Universe to “Erica Pitbull” and work her way back to Omaira.
However, Erica will have to overcome a mountain of a task to reach her goal. Because her next opponent is 2x Kenpo World Champion and UFC Veteran Melinda “The Predator” Fábián.
Melinda is an American Kenpo stylist and lives up to her nickname. In her KC debut against Ana Luisa Ferreira, “The Predator” stalked and pressured her opponent for all 3 rounds, marching her down and beating her in what was a dominant unanimous decision victory.
Will “Erica Pitbull” cause the upset or will Melinda Fábián continue to be the Apex Predator of the Women’s Bantamweight Division? We will find out on April 1st in Miami, get your Karate Combat 38 tickets now while you still can.
