More Info

Karate Combat recently announced that it will become the first professional sports league to launch a DAO and transition governance to its fans and athletes. Since debuting in 2018, the league has become one of the world's fastest growing sports franchises, with global distribution in more than 100 countries through partnerships with leading media properties including CBS Sports, Globo, Eurosport, BeIN Sports, and ESPN Deportes. Karate Combat events are simultaneously streamed for free to fans on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok.

“When Krause House heard about Karate Combat, we had to learn more about what they're doing. They've built a strong loyal following in a space that is ripe for disruption,”

said Krause House co-founder Commodore Cromwell.

“We're thrilled to see them push the envelope in what fan engagement is capable of. We've been documenting our journey along the way & wanted to learn first hand the journey of Karate Combat. We're convinced that a future disruptor to the incumbent MMA leader will come from something deeply unique like Karate Combat."

Karate Combat's founder Robert Bryan also shared his excitement:

"We’re excited to continue to see the Karate Combat ecosystem grow. We recently announced a radically permissive licensing model, initially in the categories of videogames and NFT’s, but we’ve planned to continue to expand the license to content, merchandise and eventually fighter development. Krause House is the market-leading DAO at the intersection of professional sports and Web3, and we’re thrilled to see them engage with the league’s IP, contributors and fanbase,”

As part of the May 20th #KC39 event, Karate Combat will become the first professional sports league to launch a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) and begin transition governance rights to its fans and athletes.

The league will launch their “Up Only Gaming” experience as part of the new Karate Combat App and initiate the first Airdrop of $KARATE tokens to app users in advance of that date.

Over time, half of the $KARATE governance tokens will be distributed for free to the Karate Combat community for participation in the DAO and use of the League’s ‘Up Only Gaming’ app.

$KARATE token holders will also be rewarded for their knowledge of the sport by earning additional tokens for successfully predicting Karate Combat bout winners. No tokens will be lost for unsuccessful predictions, but successful predictions will be rewarded with extra $KARATE tokens.

To claim launch tokens, fans need to register for the airdrop waiting list now at www.karate.com/airdrop.

No purchase will be necessary to download the Karate Combat application or claim $KARATE tokens.
